AxioVision QuantiFISH

  FISH signals
Detect FISH signals in cell nuclei and measure the number of signals per nucleus and fluorescence channel.

Multichannel fluorescence Z-stack image

The QuantiFISH module is integrated into AxioVision directly as an application, therefore expanding its functionality to include quantification of FISH signals. The user is guided, step by step, through the whole procedure from image selection and correction through to the display of measurement results.

Image with extended focus

The coloured, fluorescent FISH signals are found in various focus planes of the z-stack. Conventional manual evaluation of these signals would require time consuming analysis of the individual focus planes. The advantage offered by the AxioVision QuantiFISH module is that the z-stack is converted into an image with extended focus containing all the FISH signals in a single plane. In this image, the cell nuclei and FISH signals are detected and measured automatically.

Signal image as result of FISH analysis

The measurement results of the FISH analysis are presented in data lists and take the form of the number of FISH signals in the individual fluorescence channels for each nucleus. These results are saved automatically. A signal image is also created, from which the number of FISH signals in the individual cell nuclei can be determined.
