Graphite Classification |
| |
Conforming to Standards |
| |
Classify spheroidal, lamellar or vermicular graphite of cast iron according to ISO, ASTM or EN
|
 | | Microscope based measurements |
| The Graphite module is integrated into AxioVision directly as an application, therefore expanding its functionality to include cast iron analysis. The user is guided through the process step by step: from entering sample data and measuring the graphite particles to archiving and drawing up a report. |
 | | Cast Iron |
| With the AxioVision Graphite module three measurement methods are available for analyzing the form and size of graphite particles:
• Grey Iron: for spheroidal graphite (GJS)
• Flake Iron: for lamellar graphite (GJL)
• SinterCast: for determining nodularity and evaluating vermicular graphite according to the SinterCast method(GJV). |
 | | Cast Iron Method: Spherical graphite detected |
| These methods allow the automatic detection process to be adapted to the sample type via specific settings (e.g. elimination of non-spherical particles or small artifacts). The graphite particles are then classified in line with ISO standards. |
 | | Flake Iron Method: Lamellar graphite detected |
| The AxioVision Graphite module offers both a supervisor and a user mode for analyzing cast iron. The supervisor specifies the type of measurement in a project file and adapts the input form
and report templates to suit the sample in question, making it considerably easier for the user to perform routine measurements.
Once the user has entered the specific sample data; he or she is able to carry out the measurement quickly and easily. |
 | | SinterCast Method: Vermicular/spheroidal graphite detected |
| All cast iron analysis files such as images, measurement lists or reports are stored in a hierarchical database(Asset Archive) under a project number. The management of contacts enables projects to be allocated to different clients. Assets can also be structured and organized into the user’s own customized categories. |
